I teach a creative vinyasa flow that empowers and invigorates.  In my classes, I aim to challenge the student's mind and body simultaneously.  Through an attention to creative sequencing paired delicately with a sprinkling of yogic philosophy, I encourage students to contemplate the many facets of yoga, while recognizing and catering to the plethora of reasons that students come to class.  I tailor my classes to reflect the needs and goals of my students and empower students to discover their own inner rhythms and creative movement.

I foster openness and possibility in my classes.  Creating and holding a sacred space is integral to my teaching.  I pay special attention to nuances: voice timbre, open body language, lighting, music selection and volume, confidence, clarity of expectation, generosity of spirit.  I love leaving a yoga class with the exhilarating feeling of having just completed a great workout and the rejuvenation of spending over an hour relaxing my mind and cultivating my spirit.  That is a gift my teachers give to me, and one I strive to give to all of my students.

My practice began in 2001 during my theater training in college.  I became inspired by the infinite beauty and dynamism possible in the movement of the human body.  I studied biomechanics and a blend of yoga and modern dance techniques, and subsequently approach my theater directing through a physical perspective.  Curious to learn more about the 8-limbs of yoga and the intricacies of anatomy, I started my teacher training journey in 2007 at Tranquil Space, where I am currently a Teaching Assistant.  I began teaching in the summer of 2007, and in May 2008, I completed my 200-hour RYT Yoga Alliance certification.
